Maritime and Transport Law

Maritime law is our historical core competence.

Here, our legal expertise covers the entire life cycle of a ship. We advise and represent you from the acquisition (shipbuilding, ship financing, sale & purchase), commercial operation (contracts of affreightment and bills of lading, charter, management and pool contracts) and maintenance (repair and conversion contracts) to emergency response (cargo damage, accidents, collisions, breakdowns and general average).

We are also involved in issues of national and international maritime labor law (such as SeeArbG and MLC) and public maritime law, such as maritime traffic law, regulatory requirements and orders, and maritime accident investigation proceedings.

Due to the multimodality of today's transport chains, the scope of our services goes beyond pure maritime law and, in addition to pre- and on-carriage, we also advise on unimodal and multimodal transport.  Our core expertise therefore extends to general  transport law and covers, in addition to transport by sea, transport by land (road and rail), air, and inland waterways.
